We have reached the end of this interesting and quite honestly fun, intervention π It was a very VERY uncomfortable experience but one that brought insight to the corporate ideals of dress and that ofΒ ‘business life’. I really hope I dont end up having to wear a full suit when I’m older, but I know there will be times wen I will have to don the swag, and look like a complete fool! Thank you to all who have followed this blog. My first time doing this sorta thing, but I’m sure it wont be the last.
I have gained so much more respect and empathy for the ‘corporate clowns’ that make the world go round. I am even more grateful that I have the freedom and opportunity to be my own unique self; wear baggies, t-shirts and headbands, walk around bearfoot and embrace the ‘student life’ we all love so much. This was a great experience and I would just like to thank everyone at Vega, and especially Anet for bringing this brief to our attention. I truly believe we have all learnt something new and important about ourselves … well I certainly have π
See you all soon for a celebratory night to remember … in my headband, baggies and t-shirt π
Peace ba da Journey!
Today seemed a lot more relaxed around town. I thought i would go more casual-corporate as the shirts, ties and other irritating clothes needed a lil time off to visit the washing machine (not to worry though, the farj had some spares) π … buuut, guess wat?! Tomorrow is the FINAL day of this uncomfortable intevention thingy-mabob .. crossing fingers its gonna b a nice day – overcast with a chance of drizzle π I’ve had fun doin this though, gained a lot of respect for these corporate clowns and a lot more respect for looking sleek and neat. Still, baggies, v-neck t-shirt and my good ol headband – nothing better!!!
Starting to get really annoyed with wearing a bloody blazer! How do these cccClowns do this every single day?! It is honestly RIDICULOUS! I would rather pour honey in my ears and pass out on a flippin ant hill! CanNot Wait for the end of wednesday to hit me face … so amped to wear my t-shirts and baggies again π
ahhh sooo buggered and drained today! and still had to wake up early, don this stupid suit once again and head off to Vega to finish some last minute work. Boiling hot to begin with, but the wonders of layers of clothing during a cold and rainy afternoon are tramendous! π 3 days to go … I am so looking forward to packing this suit away for the next few months and trying on my mouldy baggies and t-shits that have seem to have found a cozy spot in te back of my cupboard.
Rugby today was insane!!! was as formal as i could get myself in to, as i was working at the stadium. But everyone was saying how “dashing” and young i look … for a change haha! Gaining a lot more respect towards the business ideal and corporate image, but i dont think its my scene AT ALL!
Fridays … why do i have to wear a suit and tie on a friday?! it was soooo hot today too, was the first time felt Really uncomfortable in my outfit. Im used to havin my baggies on already and keen for the beach, not in a siut tho! But had a lil photo shoot wit the Vega crew which was good. Not sure bout Origin in a suit, will see how it goes …

Had the day off from lectures and Vega today, that didnt stop me having to wear a suit, tie and knewly polished square toes toΒ the Pavilion! I actually felt quite proud and powerful for the first time in this outfit. But still got alot of funny looks. The ones that used to last for a second or 2 but now they were followed by a quick ‘up-down’ scan and one raised eyebrow haha!
The heat is starting to take its tole, even with the full cloud cover! Cant even imagine wat its going to be like wen the good ol 30 odd degree days come back to sunny durbs.
A man and his wife went to the company Christmas party where the man has a little too much to drink.
He staggers down the stairs the following morning, completely hung over, and makes his way to the breakfast bar. His wife pours him a cup of coffee.
With his head in his hand, he asks “Damn, honey.” “What happened last night?”
She replies, “It wasn’t a pretty sight.”
He asks, “What do you mean?”
“Well” she replies, “You were not on your best behavior and your boss was extremely upset.”
“He was”, he moans.
“Yes” she replies, “He sure was.”
“Aahhh, PISS ON HIM!” he says.
“You did,” she replies. “Honey, You got fired last night.”
“I got fired?” he questions.
“Yes” she answers “You got fired”
“Aahhh, F**K HIM!” he says.
She replies, “I did, you start back on Monday morning!”
Well today was actually a HELL of a lot better! My ‘boss’ gave me the day off, to be more relaxed. ‘He’ said I dont hav to wear a tie today π .. Thank God! HATE that rashing knoose! haha … but unfortunately for me the sun broke through the sideskirts of Cylcone Irene, blazing down on us in all its glory and smothering me and my 4 layers of clothing (well 3 today). Was the first time experiencing the corporate swag in this heat … SWEATFACTORY of note!
.. and met up with a few mates later in the day … hahaha! What a reaction! ..
“WTF Josh!! didnt even see you there! You look like a 16 year old school boy! Used to seeing you in your headband and baggies … What a ccCLOWN!”
haha great … well to be honest wasn’t expecting a different reaction. But they did say I clean up well …. YEEah Buddy!
